If booking for multiple schools within a trust, are discounts available?

Yes. If schools from the same trust complete a booking at the same time, you receive a further 15% discount across each school.

What does the workshop involve?

Kieran begins with an educational PowerPoint about his art, litter, and plastic pollution. Then, the class is split into groups of threes to make mosaics using littered lids on green cloths.

What extra parts does the two-hour workshop contain?

It also contains a tower-building team exercise, team quiz, and class reflection.

How does it fit our curriculum?

It fits within your Art and Science eco learning around plastic pollution, English with question and answering, and Maths when looking at the amount of litter. Plus, Geography as Kieran highlights how ocean currents move litter around the planet and History with Roman mosaics. Finally, Citizenship about being good human beings.

What class size does it accommodate?

Each workshop is designed for a maximum of 30 children.

What year groups does it suit?

It caters for Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6. It is not suitable for Early Years and Year 1.

How far in advance can we book?

It is recommended you book at least four-to-six weeks in advance to ensure availability, especially during peak school seasons.

What if we need to cancel or reschedule?

You can cancel or reschedule up to seven days in advance. Cancellations made less than seven days prior may incur a cancellation fee. Rescheduling is subject to availability.

What if Kieran has to cancel?

If Kieran must cancel due to illness or injury, he will ensure an alternate date is arranged that fits your schedule with your booking fee transferred to a new date.

What is the payment policy?

Your payment must be made within 30 days of receiving the invoice. Any provided discount (such as for trusts) will be voided if not paid within this period.

Does Kieran take photos?

You will receive a parent/carer permission form about photography immediately after the booking is confirmed. Any children who cannot be photographed will be put in the same groups when producing the mosaics. At the end, Kieran will show the teacher any photos taken to ensure safeguarding protocols are adhered.

Where do the photos appear?

They will appear on the website, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.

Can we take photos?

Yes. Teachers are most welcome to take photos of Kieran and the workshop in action.

What are the technical requirements?

Access to power for a laptop and a HDMI connection to your whiteboard.

Do we need to provide materials?

No. All the lids and green cloths are provided. The cloths replicate the snooker table on which Kieran’s art is made.

As the lids have been litter picked, are they safe to handle?

Yes. The lids have been cleaned and sterilised. Many of them are misshapen or broken due to vehicles running over them when littered and some have even been burnt. Therefore, Kieran tells the children to be careful when handling them.

Do the children get anything to take home?

Yes. Each child receives an “I am an eco artist” fridge magnet made from an upcycled milk lid.

Can Kieran do a whole school assembly?

Yes. However, depending on what time, there may be an extra charge.

What do the children call him?

He is happy to be called “Kieran”.

Does Kieran have a DBS?

Yes. Kieran has an enhanced child workforce DBS on the Update Service. Kieran is the only workshop facilitator and, having been an educator, has taken the relevant safeguarding training.
